Wretched & Divine Review
This album is an operatic, larger than life masterpiece. It's tied with The Phantom Tommorrow for the spot of "Favorite BVB Album"
Maybe that's because the theatrics appeal to me as a theater kid, and so much work was clearly put into this album, and it shows.
The story goes through so many emotional highs and lows-there is so much struggle that these outcast protagonists go through to get to their goal. When doubt seems to creep into the protagonists around Done For You, Nobody's Hero, and Lost It All, the audience is on that same emotional level.
And then victory is secure, topping off the main story with easily their most famous song.
In The End is a rock anthem in every sense of the word. It's bold, anthemic, and demands to be played in arenas. And I can't help but sing along with it every time.
And FEAR's final transmission plays, officially closing the album (if you ignore the ultimate release, which I am for the sake of simplicity) with the closure that an oppressive religious government has officially fallen.
Hopefully, that will happen in the real world.
