My thoughts on the When We Were Young concert in Las Vegas
I have MAJOR reservations about this concert. Everything about this just doesn't sit right.
For one thing, the information we have says that there will be dozens of band performing on only 3 stages for a day.
I'd buy this if it was a multiple day thing like Warped Tour was, but this is a single day, specifically on October 22. Are people supposed to just pick and choose which bands to see, knowing that they won't have a chance to see the other bands they love, because odds are they will be playing at the same time? Because in no universe that I can think of would this many bands playing one after another in a single day result in any meaningful set list for any one of them.
And there are no mentioned virus protocols. To which I scream "IS COVID NOT A THING NOW?" Seriously, I know the dedication of the fans, and a lot of us are going to try and go. No safety protocols in one small area with that many people sounds like the perfect breeding ground for COVID.
And this many people going to this small of a venue brings to mind Astroworld. And we all know how that went.
Yes, I went to the BVB concert last year. But there were safety protocols. We had to wear masks at all times, the band members were masked during the meet and greets, fans were six feet apart during them, AND we had to prove we'd been vaccinated.
I see none of that here, and it concerns me.
So, be safe out there, people.
